Got some more Diafolders from DMT, as I find myself going to the (RED)600 grit mostly.

I found that DMT is changing things up with a clear plastic, I preferred the bold colours, probably just easier to make a clear cover as opposed to different colours??

Any how I got the sharps for serrated edges too, always good to have, and work a treat on recurve blades too.

Despite getting the large sharpeners, I find myself turning to the folder DMT's as they are quick to whip out for touch up, and for folder knives - perfect, also excellent to take on a trip, light.

Some pics with some of my lads:

- very good thanks..........and you!?

Hope to see you soon as I'll be in Ctn ;)

2Tim215 - yes, they are just brilliant, wonderful bits o' kit. Have two different sets - and, together with Spyderco Sharpmaker - can do most things pretty well. Sure, not the refined sharpening and reprofiling of Marthinus/MR, but does most of what I have esp all the kitchen knives

Hi Tim, I have a few now, and I use them more than any other, on my users, I do a quick strop 2 laps each side, then pull across a micro bevel one each side, that is my touch up, paper, hair, newspaper, toilet paper all on 600 grit.

When you get them you will be tempted to get the finer ones, it is not necessary, with the 320(blue) you can remove stock and put a fantastic edge on, The 600(red) just gets it to what I want.

I use it on M390/ RWL 34/ Nitrobe77, Des and Marthinus turned me onto it, I have not looked back

I do not know if they are in the country? People still hold onto the Lansky, CDG has the market.

I purchased mine online.

Those are interesting Guy.

I did not know DMT did the change over to clear handles. I wonder what brought on the change?

They are fine tools for when one wants compact and efficient sharpeners.

Are they free hand sharpness or do they have some form of angle guide or jig?

They do have a jig or guide that you can buy in a package as it is cheaper(clip foldy into it), called Magna glide, uses magnet to adhere to the stone so the blade don't run off.

40/ 30/ 25, I had one but never used it.

Guy:

If you have the time during touch-ups - try using some soapy water spritzed onto the DMT instead of using them dry - let me know what you think of the results....(hint hint....)
